PCB Dismisses Mohamed Waheed from Housing Development Corporation

Mohamed Waheed has been removed from the board of directors of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), according to an announcement by the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB).

The dismissal was confirmed in a post on X by the PCB on Sunday. No reason was provided for the decision.

Waheed was appointed to the board of the state-owned HDC in December 2023. Prior to his role at HDC, he held senior positions at the Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) and the Ministry of Housing.

HDC, a government-owned enterprise, is responsible for planning and managing urban development projects, including those in Hulhumalé.

The PCB, which oversees appointments and dismissals in state-owned enterprises, has not issued any further comment on the matter.
