Looking ahead to his discussions with President Muizzu, PM Modi stated, “The talks with President Muizzu will certainly add momentum to bilateral ties across diverse sectors.”

This will be PM Modi’s first visit to the Maldives during the current administration and comes at a time when both countries have expressed interest in improving diplomatic engagement. While ties had faced challenges in recent years, the visit is widely seen as a chance to reset relations and reaffirm long-standing cooperation.

During the visit, PM Modi is expected to inaugurate several joint development projects and oversee the signing of multiple Memorandums of Understanding aimed at expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
