Building on the momentum, Visit Maldives began a major outdoor campaign in the UK on 27th March, capitalising on Liverpool FC’s reach. The campaign includes advertisements across London taxis, buses, the Underground, and major airports, as well as in business class lounges. More than 100 fully branded taxis are currently operating in London as part of the promotion.

During his visit, President Muizzu will meet with Maldivian students in the UK and tour the AXA Training Centre, Liverpool FC’s state-of-the-art training facility. The aim of this segment is to gain insights into elite football coaching and explore how high-performance training techniques can be adapted for sports development in the Maldives.

The President will also visit Leeds University and Leeds Town Hall, where he is scheduled to meet the Councillor of the City of Leeds. Meanwhile, cabinet ministers accompanying the President are expected to hold meetings with senior officials from Red Way and the LFC Academy to explore further joint marketing initiatives under the Maldives-Liverpool FC partnership.

Travelling with the President are Tourism and Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim, Sports, Fitness, and Recreation Minister Abdulla Rafiu, MMPRC Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree, and other senior government officials.

President Muizzu is scheduled to return to Malé on Saturday, 5th April 2025.
