The President’s Office launched the Executive Development Programme (EDP) 2025–2027 on Wednesday, with the inaugural session taking place at the auditorium of the King Salman Mosque.
The EDP is led by the Political Appointees Performance Management (PAPM) Unit under the Political Affairs Office (PAO), in partnership with the Civil Service Training Institute (CSTI) and the Foreign Service Institute of Maldives (FOSIM). The programme is part of a broader government effort to strengthen leadership and coordination across ministries and institutions.
Afeef Hussain delivered the first session under the theme “Leading and Transforming a Nation Through a Service Excellence Culture,” addressing a packed audience of officials representing various government bodies.
According to the organisers, the EDP is aimed at enhancing the performance of senior government executives, particularly political appointees. The curriculum includes a blend of lectures, workshops, seminars, and dialogues with experts, covering topics such as organisational effectiveness, inter-agency cooperation, and managerial best practices.
The programme is expected to run over the next two years, building leadership capacity among those tasked with implementing the government’s policies and public service reforms.
