Private Jet Arrivals to Maldives Rise in Late March, MACL Data Show

Data released by Maldives Airports Company Limited indicate that private jet arrivals to the Maldives increased compared to the same period last year.

Between 15 and 31 March, a total of 178 private jets landed in the country in 2026, up from 134 during the same period in 2025, representing an increase of 32.8 per cent.

Over the 16-day period, the Maldives recorded an average of more than 10 private jet arrivals per day. The highest number of landings was observed on 21 March, when 17 jets arrived, while the lowest was recorded on 26 March, with five arrivals.

In comparison, figures from 2025 show that the highest number of arrivals during the same period was 13 jets, while the lowest stood at two.

Maldives Association for Travel Agencies and Tour Operators has attributed the increase in private jet arrivals to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The Middle East serves as a key transit region for travellers heading to the Maldives, with many commercial airline routes operating through the region. Flight disruptions and cancellations linked to the conflict have led some travellers to opt for private jet travel, contributing to the rise in arrivals.

Tourism organisations have stated that despite the situation, overall demand for travel to the Maldives has not been affected.
