Works are underway for the opening of regional museums across Maldives as per the Minister of Arts, Heritage and Culture, Honorable Yumna Maumoon. This was announced in a message by Hon. Yumna on International Museum Day.
Minister Yumna talked about how the regional museums would spark interest for Maldives’ history and rich culture in the people’s hearts. She explained that the first regional museum was opened in Huvadhoo on September 11th and that more are upcoming in other areas.
Hon. Yumna mentioned that the museums showcase the individuality of Maldives and that it is our responsibility to pass on our rich heritage to the coming generations.
