Registrations Open for Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2025

Dhiraagu has officially opened registrations for the 2025 edition of the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR), now in its 16th year. The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, 24 October 2025, at Central Park, Hulhumalé, and will feature four categories: Half Marathon, 10K, 5K Open, and 5K Corporate Team.

A total of MVR 280,000 in cash prizes will be awarded across the categories. This year’s race introduces a newly certified route aimed at enhancing the overall experience for runners. Dhiraagu anticipates increased participation in the corporate team category alongside international athletes, reflecting the event’s growing appeal.

DMRR remains the Maldives’ first and only international road race recognised by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and features a route certified by World Athletics. Over the years, it has become the largest annual run in the country, bringing together communities from across the Maldives and beyond.

Staying true to its social mission, the 2025 race is dedicated to the cause of child protection. Dhiraagu will donate MVR 200,000 to the top five NGOs nominated by participants during registration, helping these organisations launch child-focused initiatives. An additional MVR 100 will be contributed for every registration, along with proceeds from the sale of special bib numbers, with all funds distributed among the endorsed NGOs.

Registrations will close once the 4,000-participant limit is reached. Interested runners can register at dmrr.dhiraagu.com.mv.
