The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel, is set to represent the Maldives at the 4th China-South Asia Cooperation Forum and the 7th China-South Asia Expo from 16-20 August 2023 in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.
State Minister Khaleel is scheduled to address the Opening Ceremony of the Forum, providing a statement on behalf of the Maldivian Government. Additionally, he will engage in discussions with high-ranking officials from the Yunnan Province to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
The Maldives has historically marked its presence at both the Expo and the Forum held in Yunnan Province. Notably, this year marks the first in-person assembly since the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions by China in January.
Joining State Minister Khaleel on this significant visit are Aishath Azeema, the Ambassador of Maldives to the People’s Republic of China, and Mariyam Suha, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
