STELCO Introduces Strategic In-House Training Framework for Staff Development

State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has officially launched its In-house Trainers Pool, a new initiative to strengthen employee development by leveraging internal expertise.

The Trainers Pool was inaugurated yesterday by STELCO’s Managing Director, Hussain Fahmy, during a ceremony marking the programme’s start. The initiative is designed to tap into the knowledge, skills and experience of current employees to identify internal training needs and deliver tailored learning opportunities across the company.

As part of the programme, 35 employees have completed the internationally recognised ‘Train the Trainer’ certification and were today issued licences as certified trainers under STELCO’s internal framework. These trainers include engineers and technicians from various operational sectors, as well as staff from administrative departments, including human resources, security, media, and public relations.

A handwritten training manual, compiled to outline the structure and content of the sessions to be delivered by the trainers, was also launched at the event. STELCO confirmed that this pool of 35 certified trainers marks the first phase of the initiative, with plans already in place to train additional employees in the near future.

The company says the In-house Trainers Pool represents a strategic step toward fostering continuous professional development and improving knowledge transfer within the organisation.
