Instead of submitting the application form to the Customs Office, the shipping vessel agent’s license is now to be renewed through the Customs portal.
Article 228 of the Customs General Regulations states that the duration of the vessel agents license is one year from the date of issuance of the license.
The relevant forms must be submitted to the Customs Office before the license expires.
Customs said that the service will be suspended automatically upon expiry of the license period.
The service will be restored by paying for the service through the portal to renew the license. Online payments can also be made through the Bank of Maldives (BML) payment gateway.
Customs stated that if the shipping agency’s license issued by the Transport Ministry expires before the license is renewed, it is the responsibility of the agent to submit the relevant letter to Customs after renewing the license.
