Villa College has officially opened applications for its September 2025 intake, offering prospective students a wide array of academic pathways across more than 100 programmes. Spanning from Foundation to Master’s levels, the programmes cover high-demand fields including education, engineering, information technology, business, health sciences, psychology, tourism, and law.
The September intake includes both in-house developed courses and those offered in partnership with internationally recognised universities. Notable academic collaborators include the University of the West of England (UK), Taylor’s University (Malaysia), and the University of Cyberjaya (Malaysia). One highlight is the Engineering programme, which is validated by the University of Portsmouth. Students enrolled in this programme can complete two to three years in the Maldives before transferring to Portsmouth to finish their final year, gaining valuable international experience.
Classes will be available at six campus locations: Malé K.I.T Campus, Naifaru, Gan, Mahibadhoo, Hithadhoo, and Kulhudhuffushi. For added flexibility, most programmes will also be offered online, with the exception of Engineering, Teaching, Nursing, and Pharmacy, which require practical, in-person components. Hybrid learning options that blend face-to-face and digital instruction are also available.
This application cycle follows a series of recent accolades for Villa College. Earlier this year, it became the first and only higher education institution in the Maldives to be ranked in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, placing among the top 20 percent of universities globally. Additionally, the college received a 5-Star rating in Employability, Online Learning, and Environmental Impact from the QS Stars international rating system.
Villa College’s academic approach is designed to develop industry-ready graduates through practical exposure. Internships and externships are embedded across all programmes, supported by a growing network of industry partners. International mobility opportunities and sustainability-focused modules aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals further enrich the academic experience. Students also benefit from a compulsory Design Thinking module to enhance creativity and problem-solving skills.
To support modern learning, the college has integrated technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality into its curriculum. Eleven specialised laboratories provide hands-on learning opportunities across various disciplines, preparing students for a digital future.
Beyond academics, Villa College promotes holistic student development through services like the V-Care Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre, academic assistance programmes, and on-campus amenities including gyms and recreational facilities.
Applications can be submitted online via the Villa College website, with complete applications processed within three to five working days. Physical application options remain available for those preferring traditional submission methods. The deadline to apply is 16 August 2025, with classes beginning in September. Monthly payment plans are available, and all Bachelor’s programmes are eligible under the Government of Maldives’ free first-degree scheme.
