Visit Maldives Launches Joint Marketing Campaign with Thomas Cook India

Visit Maldives has launched a joint marketing campaign with India’s leading integrated travel services company, Thomas Cook India. The three-month-long campaign aims to increase the travel demand to Maldives from India with highly focused marketing activities. Furthermore, it will utilize the digital channels of Thomas Cook India to create destination awareness and enhance visibility.

Currently, India ranks second among the key arrival markets to Maldives. We expect that this partnership will increase arrivals from a range of Indian traveler segments. Furthermore, India was ranked number one in terms of tourist arrivals to Maldives by the end of the year. With this positive growth from the Indian Market, Visit Maldives aims to further boost the arrivals and increase destinations awareness with various marketing efforts such as familiarization trips, campaigns targeting the Indian honeymoon segment and participation in major travel trade fairs in India.

Maldives reopened its borders to tourists of all nationalities on 15th July 2020. The stringent safety measures in place and the naturally distanced nature of the islands ensure safety for all tourists. Maldives plans to roll out the COVID-19 vaccine in the coming months and it is anticipated that the COVID-19 cases will decrease gradually, in turn increasing the confidence travelers have in Maldives.
