9 State Owned Enterprises to Go Into Liquidation

The Ministry of Finance has revealed that nine state-owned enterprises (SOEs) are to go into liquidation.

The SOEs on the list released by the Ministry this week includes Felivaru Fisheries Maldives and Kooddoo Fisheries Maldives, both of which own fish factories.

The list also includes Maldives National Broadcasting Corporation (MNBC), Works Corporation, Madivaru Holdings, Gan Airport Company, Maldives Road Development Corporation, Hazana Maldives, and National Investment Management Company.

Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer has previously noted that of the 31 SOEs in operation, only a few of them generate profit.
