BML Carries out Clean up Challenge, Donates to ‘Save The Beach’

As part of World Environment Day, Bank of Maldives staff has donated MVR 30,000 to ‘Save the Beach’ under their clean up intiative, Trash Tag Challenge. ‘Save the Beach’ is a non-profit initiative who work to keep the Maldives beaches clean.

The Trash Tag Challenge was a big hit among the public as per the Public Relations Manager of BML, Mr. Mohamed Saeed. Mr. Saeed added that it was a pleasure for BML to support an organization like Save The Beach, who worked for such a noble cause in Maldives.

Several Before and After pictures of clean ups conducted by BML staff all around Maldives were circulated in social media under the hashtag #TrashTagMV. The general public also took part and sent in their clean up pictures.

The Minister of Environment and Energy, Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan congratulated BML on their challenger and endorsed the initiative. He also pleaded with the public to make their contributions to this challenge as much as possible.
