Skytrax recently released the results of its annual Airline Awards, which include the world’s best airlines for flying first class.
The best first-class flight on the world for 2019 was awarded to Singapore Airlines. Singapore Airlines flights have ultra-luxurious personal touches such as private spaces sculpted for comfort, extra-wide hand-stitched leather seats, mood lighting, and meals created by notable chefs which makes passengers feel ultra-special.
Lufthansa was crowned as the second-best first-class. The German Airline’s services include chauffeured limousines, valet parking and personal assistants who meet you at the airport and whisk you through tedious check-in procedures. In the air, first-class passengers relax in “intuitive” ergonomic seats and enjoy the airline’s signature “red rose and caviar service”.
Air France the third-best first-class, La Première travel experience extends around the world, as assistants are on hand to help at every stage of your journey; meanwhile, onboard the plane you’ll receive personalized attention in four private suites in La Première cabins. The cuisine is sophisticated, natural on flights departing from Paris, menus feature signature dishes created in homage to Joël Robuchon.
Etihad Airways was selected as the fourth-best as it boasts The Lobby – an intimate space for relaxing inspired by boutique hotels.
Offering a private sanctuary kitted out with designer sleepsuits, Frette linen, and an ultra-comfortable lie-flat bed, Qatar Airways was selected as the fifth in the top 10 for its first-class service but was recently named overall World’s Best Airline for the fifth time.
The sixth best as being as close as it comes to having your own private jet, once the privacy doors close in Emirates first-class cabin, you’re in a world of utter luxury. An onboard shower/spa and stylish lounge bar are just a few steps away on the A380.
Travel the skies in ultimate comfort and privacy within the seventh-best All Nippon Airways (ANA’s) self-contained square shell seats, which have their own door and feature a 32-inch widescreen monitor and extra-generous storage space.
Exclusive touches ripple through the eighth-best Swiss International Air Lines offerings, which include Zimmerli pyjamas and La Prairie products packed in a Bally bag. Free internet access is a first-class perk.
Qantas Airways was selected as the ninth-best, though you can travel while enjoying a spa-treatment before take-off, indulge in seasonal menus by Neil Perry and relax in a First Suite complete with Sheridan linen and a bedding-down service.
With just six seats in the first-class cabin, Oman Air treats guests to ultimate exclusivity complemented by inflight premium dining and inflight connectivity while being selected as the tenth- best.
Thai Airways was ranked 11th, followed by Japan Airways at 12th place, Cathay Pacific Airways at 13th, Saudi Arabian Airlines at 14th, British Airways at 15th, Garuda Indonesia at 16th, China Southern Airlines at 17th, Korean Air at 18th, Asiana Airlines in the 19th spot and Malaysia Airlines in the 20th place.
