Vice President meets stakeholders in fuel supplying operations

Vice President Faisal Naseem met with some companies involved in the supply of fuel. The meeting was held at the President’s Office.

The Vice President met with representatives from fuel supplying companies from the Malé region and inquired about the process of fuel storage, delivery and the daily operations of the companies in delivering and refueling sea vessels docked at ports in the Malé region.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Faisal Naseem noted the importance of abiding by safety precautions and instructed the companies to standardize their operations to meet with the specified safety guidelines.

At the meeting attended by senior officials from State Trading Organisation (STO), Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) and Ports Authority, suppliers noted the role they could play in standardizing their operations.

At the meeting, Vice President Faisal Naseem emphasized the government’s plan to phase out industrial activities from residential areas, which include alternate arrangements made for fuel storage as well as refueling. The Vice President also said that the government would incorporate some a monitoring mechanism to ensure the standardization of the service.
