Bank of Maldives has introduced Dynamic Currency Conversation (DCC) Service, which allows foreign travelers and workers to make transactions in Maldives and have the cost of the transaction converted to their home currency at the point of sale.
The new service was inaugurated today at a special ceremony held at Meeru Island Resort and Spa. The service is expected to facilitate resorts and guesthouses in the Maldives to conduct smoother sales to visitors from all areas of the world. DCC service allows foreign visitors and workers to view the exact amount their card will be charged, expressed in their home currency, reducing the need to use USD. Vendors may decide in advance which currency they would like to receive the transaction amounts from the Bank.
DCC Service is beneficial to travelers as it allows them to view and therefore understand prices in Maldives in their home currency, and makes it easier to enter expenses for business travelers.
BML DCC service is available for VISA and MasterCard.
