Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has resumed lease agreement signing for the Hiyaa Flats on Saturday.
The process was temporarily halted after an HDC employee tested positive for COVID-19.
While HDC confirmed that the signing of agreements will continue from 7th to 18th August, a schedule for the recipients of the flats who are required to sign has also been publicized.
HDC stated that even though the keys are handed over to the owners, they will not be required to pay rent until the three-month period for the finishing work is complete, even after the agreement is signed.
Furthermore, if the recipient wishes to bring more changes to the flat, a special form is to be filled. It is to be noted that work in relation to water accessibility within the flat will be attended to immediately upon request.
According to HDC, MVR 8,500 is to be paid as the monthly rent for the housing units for the next 25 years.
