The latest COVID-19 weekly spending report released by the Ministry of Finance shows that pandemic-related government expenditure has reached MVR 3.8 billion so far.
As of 16 September 2021, total spending towards COVID-19 health and social efforts stood at MVR 2,108.7 million; 0.09% increase from the week before. In this review period, 34.1% of total health and social spending was committed-spending.
In terms of week-on-week spending, Hulhumale Hospital registered the highest spending compared to its peers. The spending was mainly on Operational Services. The next significant spending was by the National Social Protection Agency on Grants, Contribution and Subsidies. Over the review period, other agencies only reported small incremental changes in their spending.
As of 16 September 2021, total disbursements made to COVID-19 related economic response schemes stood at MVR 1,773.4 million. This figure is unchanged from week before.
