Hotelier Maldives Wellness Summit scheduled to be held on 6 September 2017

Local hospitality and business magazine, Hotelier Maldives is putting up their final touches to host the Hotelier Maldives Wellness summit on the 6th of September 2017. The summit is expected to be a networking and knowledge sharing day-long event. It will see a number of industry leaders related professionals converge for a series of keynote speeches, presentations and panel discussions.

The Hotelier Maldives Wellness Summit is planned as an annual event with a committee comprising of industry pioneers and leaders including Jesper Hougaard, Founder and Managing Director, Serena Spa; Renate Hermes, Executive Director, Duniye Spa; Anni Hood, leading global wellness consultant and Aishath Zulfishan, Spa Manager, Huvafen Fushi Maldives. While Jesper Hougaard will also give the lead keynote speech, Renate Hermes will lead a panel discussion on global wellness trends.

The summit will also feature presentations by Dr Hussain Sunny Umar, Chief Operating Officer of Maldives Getaways Pvt Ltd, Shosil Mahato, the Director of Spa at Velaa Private Island Maldives and Gordon Jackson, the Area Waste to Wealth Manager at Soneva Fushi who will present a case study of best practices in environmental management.

In addition to participation from General Managers of resorts, investors, owners and operators of wellness centres and spas in the Maldives, the summit will showcase new technologies for the wellness industry as well as products from suppliers.

Scheduled to take place at Kurumba Maldives, the Summit will be invitation only and will include a networking session both in the morning and during lunch.

The global wellness economy is now valued at USD 3.7 trillion according to the Global Wellness Institute.
