Former State Minister for Health, Dr. Shah Mahir, has been appointed as the Deputy CEO of Dharumavantha Hospital. The hospital’s CEO, Razzaq Haleem, confirmed the appointment.
Dr. Shah, who initially held his state ministerial position representing the Jumhoory Party (JP), resigned on August 28 following his departure from the party. He stated that remaining in a political post allocated for JP while no longer supporting President Solih’s administration was inappropriate.
Post-resignation, Dr. Shah aligned himself with The Democrats. Notably, he was previously suspended over allegations related to the ventilator corruption case during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) decided not to pursue the case after their investigation.
He completed his MBBS in 2002 at the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London, where he earned his degree.
Dr. Shah is also licensed by the General Medical Council of England. He holds memberships in both the British Medical Association and the Medical Defense Union, reflecting his deep engagement with the medical community. His academic contributions include articles published in various medical journals.
In addition to his academic and professional achievements, Dr. Shah has gained valuable experience working in several hospitals across London.
