Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) has announced the introduction of aerobridges at Velana International Airport (VIA), aiming to enhance passenger convenience with direct access to aircraft from the terminal.
MACL highlighted that the installation of aerobridges at VIA’s new international passenger terminal is underway. This move is expected to elevate the overall customer experience for travellers.
Previously, passengers in the Maldives had to either walk outdoors from the terminal to the aircraft or utilise airport shuttles for boarding. With the introduction of aerobridges, akin to many international airports globally, passengers will now benefit from streamlined boarding processes and enhanced convenience.
This development signifies a positive step forward for VIA and is anticipated to significantly improve the efficiency and comfort of air travel for passengers in the Maldives.
