The Deputy Managing Director of Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), Ali Saleem, has emphasized the crucial role of citizen-government collaboration in driving development across the Maldives. His remarks came during a gathering with residents of Funadhoo, as part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the Shaviyani Atoll.
Saleem highlighted President Dr Muizzu’s reliance on public support for the successful implementation of development projects. He acknowledged the economic challenges faced by Funadhoo residents in recent years while praising the community’s history of collaboration with previous governments. Saleem expressed optimism for a renewed era of development on the island, calling for a cooperative approach between the government and its citizens.
He outlined potential areas for development in Funadhoo, including airport expansion, hospital construction, and upgrades to road infrastructure. Saleem pledged IASL’s ongoing support and commitment to cooperate on projects that advance the island’s progress.
