The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has initiated the “Discover Maldives” webinar series, a global campaign designed to enhance the visibility of the Maldives as a premier travel destination. The series aims to engage travel trade professionals from key markets around the world, offering them in-depth knowledge about the unique tourism offerings of the Maldives.
The first webinar, targeting the French travel market, took place on 21st August 2024. The session attracted around 60-80 travel professionals and media representatives, all of whom participated in the event conducted in French. This localised approach ensures effective communication and engagement with travel agents and tour operators.
During the webinar, representatives from renowned Maldivian properties, including Adaaran Resorts & Heritance Aarah, Angsana Velavaru, and Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau, presented their unique products and services. These presentations highlighted the distinctive experiences available in the Maldives, reinforcing the country’s appeal as a top destination for French-speaking travellers.
The “Discover Maldives” webinar series is part of MMPRC’s broader strategy to sustain and increase tourist arrivals from both established and emerging markets. By providing valuable information and fostering strong partnerships with the travel trade, MMPRC aims to maintain the Maldives’ position as a leading choice for global travellers.
Over the past eight months, the Maldives has seen significant growth in tourist arrivals from several key markets, including China, Russia, the United Kingdom, and France. The new webinar series is expected to further boost the country’s presence in these regions, while also introducing the “Sunny Side of Life” to new and emerging markets.
The next webinars in the series will continue to target other crucial markets, with the goal of showcasing the diverse tourism products and experiences that the Maldives has to offer, catering to the varied interests and preferences of international travellers.
