Maldives State Shipping (MSS) has launched a new shipping route to Indonesia, utilising MSS’s vessel, the MSS Graphene. The new service will connect Belawan, Indonesia, to Port Klang, Malaysia, and Colombo, Sri Lanka.
MSS began operations to Malaysia in July and is now expanding its network to include Indonesia. Goods transported to Colombo will subsequently be transferred to MSS’s ships servicing the Colombo-Male’ route.

MSS Chief Commercial Officer Taha Mohammed reported that the initial voyage has achieved 70% completion, indicating strong demand for the new route.
The company operates a fleet of five ships and currently provides services from Malaysia to Colombo, Colombo to Male’, and Dubai to Male’. Additionally, MSS runs scheduled trips from Male’ to Addu City.
With agents in over 30 ports globally and the capacity for more than 2,500 containers, MSS aims to facilitate the transportation of goods to the Maldives from various international locations.
