New BCC Portal Opens Registration for Self-Employed Maldivians

The Business Centre Corporation (BCC) launched a new registration system yesterday, allowing self-employed individuals throughout the Maldives to officially register their businesses. Effective from September 27, this initiative aims to create a centralised database for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) while providing the tools needed for business growth and sustainability.

“The key purpose of this registration is to document those operating independently, ensuring we understand their needs better and provide appropriate support,” said Samih Adam, Deputy Managing Director of BCC. He further explained that this initiative is part of BCC’s ongoing commitment to SME development and sustainability.

Maldivians can now register through an online portal, accessible via BCC’s website and social media channels. Assistance is also available at the BCC headquarters in Male’ City and various business centers across the atolls.

The initiative offers several potential benefits for self-employed individuals, from enhanced business support to greater visibility in the local economy. This new system aims to foster collective progress by uniting self-employed individuals in a supportive business network.

BCC encourages all self-employed Maldivians to take advantage of this opportunity, noting that registration will unlock a range of benefits aimed at helping businesses thrive in a competitive environment.
