According to the ministry, this study will lay the groundwork for the design and planning stages of the road project, which is supported through Chinese assistance. President Mohamed Muizzu initially outlined the project’s scope during his visit to China in January, noting that a substantial part of the $130 million allocated would focus on improving Male’s road infrastructure.

Construction Minister Dr Abdulla Muththalib has stated that the government aims to initiate the project in the coming year, with a target for completion within four years.
