Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has announced a new direct flight route between Hanimaadhoo International Airport and Bangalore, India. The service is set to commence on May 15, 2025, marking a significant step in expanding connectivity between the Maldives’ northern region and key Indian destinations.
The new route will feature two weekly flights operating on Sundays and Thursdays. The schedule is designed to provide convenience for both leisure and business travellers, with timings tailored to meet demand during peak travel periods.
This expansion follows Maldivian’s existing service between Hanimaadhoo and Trivandrum, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to improving accessibility for residents in the northern Maldives. By launching this route, Maldivian aims to strengthen economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Tickets for the Hanimaadhoo-Bangalore route will be available for purchase starting March 16, 2025, through Maldivian’s official website, mobile application, and ticketing offices.
With this new addition, Maldivian continues to expand its international reach, complementing its existing services across India, China, and other regions. The airline currently operates a fleet of 25 aircraft, including a mix of A320s, A330-200s, Dash 8s, DHC-6 Twin Otters, and ATRs.
The introduction of this new route reflects Maldivian’s ongoing efforts to enhance travel options for passengers in the north while supporting the country’s growing tourism sector.
