Villa College and Atmosphere Foundation Partner to Offer Engineering Scholarships

Villa College has entered into a strategic partnership with the Atmosphere Foundation to introduce a scholarship programme for students pursuing engineering studies at the institution.

The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on 25 December 2025 at a ceremony held at Villa College. The agreement was signed by Dr Ali Najeeb, Vice Rector of Villa College, and Mr Abdul Azeez Abdul Hakeem, Vice President of the Atmosphere Foundation, on behalf of their respective organisations.

Under the initiative, three full scholarships will be offered to students facing financial challenges who wish to pursue engineering programmes at Villa College. This includes two placements for the Foundation in Engineering programme and one placement for the Bachelor of Civil Engineering programme. The scholarships will cover full programme fees as well as other compulsory course-related charges.

According to Villa College, the programme is designed not only to provide financial support but also to contribute to the academic and professional development of scholarship recipients. The student selection process will be jointly administered by Villa College and the Atmosphere Foundation, with an emphasis on transparency and fairness.

In addition to tuition support, the Atmosphere Foundation aims to offer value-added assistance where possible, including mentorship, career guidance, and opportunities for industry exposure. These measures are intended to support students throughout their studies and assist their transition into the engineering profession.

Villa College said it will administer the scholarship programme in line with established governance and academic standards. Applications for the scholarships are expected to open in the coming week, with further details to be shared through official Villa College channels.

The partnership reflects a shared objective of supporting national development by expanding access to higher education and strengthening the skills base of Maldivian youth in the engineering and built environment sectors.
