Foreign Minister Departs for Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Khaleel, departed yesterday for the United Arab Emirates to participate in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi from 13 to 14 January.

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is recognised as a major global platform focused on sustainable development. The annual gathering brings together heads of state, ministers, policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to discuss challenges and opportunities related to climate action, energy transition, innovation, and sustainable growth.

The Maldives’ participation reflects the government’s continued engagement in international forums focused on sustainability and climate-related issues. Through its presence at the event, the Maldives is expected to contribute to discussions on renewable energy, climate resilience, innovation, and international cooperation aimed at advancing sustainable development.

The forum provides an opportunity for participating countries to exchange perspectives and explore collaborative approaches to addressing shared environmental and development priorities.
