Dhiraagu has marked the International Day of Education by launching its Student Connect programme, hosting an exclusive event for college and university students on 24 January. The initiative reflects the company’s ongoing focus on engaging young people through connectivity, innovation, and digital access.
The inaugural Dhiraagu Student Connect event, held as the ISIC Edition, brought students together for an evening that combined entertainment, gaming, and student-only offers. As part of the programme, participants received a complimentary one-year subscription to the Dhiraagu x ISIC Student Discount Card, providing access to discounts and benefits both in the Maldives and internationally.
Speaking at the event, Ali Riyaz, Chief Commercial Officer of Dhiraagu, said the company aims to support students in ways that go beyond basic services. “At Dhiraagu, we believe in supporting students beyond connectivity. By creating opportunities, offering meaningful benefits, and engaging with them in spaces they value, we aim to empower young people with the tools and experiences that help them move confidently towards their future,” he said.
Dhiraagu’s Director of Brand and Marketing Communications, Mirshan Hassan, also highlighted the role of digital access in modern education. He noted that learning today is closely linked with technology, ranging from AI-driven tools to reliable high-speed connectivity, and said Dhiraagu’s focus is on equipping students with solutions that support academic, professional, and creative pursuits.
Representing ISIC Maldives, Ilyas Haneef welcomed the continued collaboration with Dhiraagu, describing the initiative as an example of how partnerships can deliver tangible value to the student community.
Dhiraagu said the Student Connect programme forms part of its broader efforts to provide Maldivian youth with access to opportunities and experiences that extend beyond a single event, supporting their development in an increasingly digital environment.
