The Chairperson of Male’ Water and Sewerage Company Limited, Shamhooza Ahmed, has been dismissed from her position, according to the Privatization and Corporatization Board.
PCB said Shamhooza has been removed from both her role as MWSC Chairperson and as a member of the company’s Board of Directors, effective today.
The change comes amid broader adjustments to the boards and senior management of state-owned enterprises. The government has said these changes are part of efforts to improve the management of such companies.
MWSC has also seen a recent leadership change at the executive level. Abdul Matheen Mohamed resigned as Managing Director of the company on April 12, after which Hussain Fahmy was appointed to the post.
The latest dismissal adds to a series of changes across state-owned enterprises, as the government continues to review leadership positions within key public companies.
