Ambassador Aishath Azeema Presents Credentials to Nepal’s President

Diplomatic representation between the Maldives and Nepal has formally advanced with the presentation of credentials by the Maldives’ newly accredited Non-Resident Ambassador in Kathmandu.

Aishath Azeema, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, presented her Letters of Credence to President Ram Chandra Poudel during a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Kathmandu.

Following the presentation, President Poudel congratulated Ambassador Azeema on her appointment and expressed confidence that she would contribute to further strengthening the longstanding and friendly relations between the Maldives and Nepal.

Ambassador Azeema conveyed greetings and best wishes from His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, as well as from the Government and people of the Maldives. She also expressed appreciation for the continued assistance provided by Nepal towards the Maldives’ socio-economic development, particularly in the health sector. As Non-Resident Ambassador, she reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with the Government of Nepal to consolidate bilateral ties during her tenure.

During her visit, Ambassador Azeema is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on Nepal’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Health and Population, the Foreign Secretary and other senior officials.

Ambassador Azeema currently serves as the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of India and will concurrently serve as Non-Resident Ambassador to Nepal, with residence in New Delhi. She was appointed to the post on 17 June 2025.
