Ooredoo Maldives has carried out an initiative to distribute Iftar packs to patients, caregivers, and healthcare workers at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) as part of its Ramadan community activities.
The initiative brought together members of the company’s staff who volunteered their time to personally hand out the packs to those spending the holy month within the hospital environment. Patients receiving treatment, family members supporting loved ones, and hospital staff on duty were among those who received the meals ahead of Iftar.
For many families, Ramadan can be particularly difficult when it coincides with medical treatment or hospital stays. The distribution aimed to offer a moment of ease and solidarity for individuals who may otherwise spend the fasting period away from their homes and usual routines.
According to the company, the activity forms part of Ooredoo Maldives’ wider corporate social responsibility efforts, which focus on supporting community wellbeing and encouraging acts of care across the country.
Staff participation played a central role in the effort, with employees volunteering to take part in the distribution. The company said such initiatives reflect its belief that community engagement begins with individuals coming together to support others.
Ooredoo Maldives stated that it remains committed to contributing to communities not only through digital connectivity and services but also through initiatives intended to assist and uplift people across the Maldives.
