Qatar Airways Schedules Return to Maldives Route from 8 April

Qatar Airways is preparing to reinstate its service between Doha and Malé, reintroducing one of the Maldives’ key international connections after recent disruptions linked to tensions in the Middle East.

Flights on the route are expected to resume from 8 April 2026, with the airline planning to operate up to five services per week under an adjusted schedule. The temporary halt in operations had followed disruptions to regional airspace, which affected several carriers operating through the Gulf.

The Doha–Malé route plays a central role in linking the Maldives with long-haul markets, particularly through Qatar Airways’ network spanning Europe, North America, and parts of the Middle East. Its return is likely to support both inbound visitor traffic and outbound travel, at a time when airlines are continuing to recalibrate operations in response to shifting conditions.

To address uncertainty around travel plans, the airline has introduced more flexible booking arrangements for passengers scheduled to travel before mid-June, allowing changes to itineraries without standard restrictions.

Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has advised travellers to confirm their bookings prior to departure, noting that schedules may still be subject to change as operations stabilise.

The resumption signals a partial restoration of connectivity for the Maldives, as airlines gradually re-establish routes affected by recent developments in the region.
