Saudia Marks 10 Years of Operations to the Maldives

Saudia has marked a decade of operations to the Maldives, highlighting its continued presence in one of the country’s key tourism markets.

The airline commemorated the milestone with an event held at Velana International Airport, where arriving passengers on flight SV838 were welcomed as part of the occasion. Departing passengers at Saudia Terminal 1 were also presented with commemorative items on scheduled services marking the anniversary.

Since launching operations on 30 March 2016, Saudia has maintained regular flights to the Maldives, contributing to the country’s tourism connectivity and facilitating travel between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia. The route has supported visitor flows from the Middle East while also strengthening bilateral travel links.

The anniversary reflects the airline’s sustained engagement in the Maldivian market over the past ten years, as international carriers continue to play a central role in supporting tourism arrivals and connectivity.
