Land reclamation works in Th. Veymandoo have been completed, adding a total of 27 hectares to the island.
The project began on 12 March 2026 and was carried out using the trailing suction hopper dredger FILIPPO BRUNELLESCHI. Reclamation activities were completed on 04 April 2026.
The completion of the project increases the available land area on the island, which is expected to support future infrastructure development. Reclamation projects of this scale are typically undertaken to address land constraints and enable expansion in housing, public services, and economic activity.
