A new entrant in the Maldives’ automotive sector is positioning itself around after-sales support as much as vehicle sales, with the launch of AutoSphere by The Hawks in Hulhumalé.
Established in 2025 and located on Fithuroanu Magu, the facility combines a car showroom with a fully equipped service centre, reflecting a business model that places sustained vehicle maintenance at the centre of its offering. While the showroom features a selection of vehicles from international brands such as Nissan, Toyota, BMW, BYD, and Mercedes-Benz, the company’s operational emphasis is on servicing infrastructure and technical capability.
The service centre is equipped with a range of professional-grade machinery designed to handle routine maintenance and more advanced diagnostics. This includes automotive lifts, tyre changers, wheel balancing systems, air conditioning servicing units, and alignment systems, allowing the facility to offer a comprehensive set of services under one roof.
AutoSphere by The Hawks has introduced tiered maintenance packages that cater to varying levels of vehicle care, ranging from basic lubrication services to more extensive inspections and servicing. These packages include oil and filter changes, brake inspections, multi-point vehicle checks, engine diagnostics, and performance assessments. Additional services such as fluid top-ups, cabin filter servicing, and professional wheel alignment are also part of the offering, indicating an attempt to standardise maintenance practices in a market where service quality can vary.
The inclusion of oil options such as Castrol Edge and BMW 0W-30 suggests a focus on compatibility with a wide range of vehicle types, including higher-end models. Alongside its servicing operations, the showroom allows customers to explore available vehicles or arrange pre-orders, positioning AutoSphere as both a sales and support hub.
The entry of a service-oriented facility comes as vehicle ownership in the Maldives continues to expand, particularly in urban centres such as Hulhumalé. With limited specialised servicing options available locally, the development signals a shift towards more structured automotive maintenance services, which could influence expectations around reliability, safety, and long-term vehicle performance.
