Maldives Airports Company Limited has advised passengers departing from Velana International Airport to arrive well ahead of their scheduled flight time, as passenger movement is expected to increase during the Eid al-Adha holiday period.
In a passenger advisory, MACL said travellers should follow the reporting times and instructions provided by their respective airlines to avoid delays. The advisory applies from today until Saturday, 31 May 2026.
The company said MACL teams will be stationed across the airport to assist passengers and support smooth operations during the busy period.
The advisory comes as holiday travel is expected to place additional pressure on airport operations, with more passengers likely to depart from the main international gateway ahead of Eid.
