A significant rise has been observed in the arrivals of tourists from England for the year 2018. While 2017 recorded 104,000 and more visitors, 2018 recorded 10.2% more, totaling 114,600 visitors to Maldives from England.
England is the second to top market to Maldives, followed by China and is extremely necessary for our tourism industry. It occupies over 7.7% of the total tourists to Maldives.
This 2019, 20 more resorts will be opened, leading the total number of beds to exceed 47,000. With regards to the aforementioned, the government plans to bring more than 1.5 million tourists to Maldives this year.
