Maldives Ambassador to Qatar Adam Shareef Umar has presented his Letter of Credence to Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The ceremony took place yesterday at Lusail Palace in Doha.
During a meeting following the ceremony, Ambassador Adam conveyed greetings from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, the Maldivian government and the people of the Maldives to the Amir and people of Qatar.
He expressed appreciation for Qatar’s longstanding support for the Maldives’ development efforts and reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through greater high-level engagement and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The Amir wished Ambassador Adam success in his new role and expressed confidence that bilateral relations between the two countries would continue to strengthen during his tenure.
Ambassador Adam was accompanied by Second Secretary at the Maldivian Embassy in Qatar, Mohamed Thahseen.
