Agreement Signed with Training Providers for ICT Courses Under COVID-19 Income Support Project

An agreement was signed on 6 June 2022 between the Ministry of Economic Development and the training providers of Information Communication Technology (ICT) courses for the upskilling and training programme conducted under the COVID-19 Emergency Income Support Project. The agreement was signed by Minister of State for Economic Development Neeza Imad on behalf of the Ministry. 

Under the project, the training providers who signed are Avid College, Cyryx College, MI College, Maldives National University (MNU) and Villa College. The four main areas under the programme are:

• Cloud and Cyber Security 
• Web Design and Development 
• Server and Networking 
• Multimedia

The purpose of the upskilling and training programme is to facilitate job opportunities for those whose income has been adversely affected due to the pandemic of COVID-19. In addition to the ICT sector, opportunities in the accounting and diving sectors have already been published through the Job Centre of the Ministry and applications have been opened for it.
