Ferries that had previously been departing to Velana International Airport from the Airport Ferry Terminal will now be making use of the Hulhumale Ferry Terminal located in Male.
Due to the lack of seating arrangements and the congestion of the roads around the Airport ferry terminal, the previous location of Hulhule ferries was not the best-suited location, Assistant General Manager of the Transport Division of MTCC, Mr. Mohamed Nazim explained. Hence, the availability of space, and the addition of necessary facilities in the Hulhumale terminal will allow the operation of both ferry services from the same terminal.
Airport Ferry Operators Association operates the Hulhule – Male’ Ferries. The allocated time for each ferry is coordinated in every 10 minutes from morning 0600 hours to midnight 0000 hours. After 0000 hours to 0130 hours, ferries are operated 15 minutes for every take off and after 0130 hours to 0400 hours, ferries are operated every 30 minutes for each take off.
