The Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to Japan His Excellency Hassan Sobir presented his Letters of Credence to the Emperor of Japan, His Majesty Emperor Naruhito, as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to Japan at a ceremony held in Tokyo on 7 September 2022 at the Imperial Palace.
During the formal ceremony, the Emperor welcomed Ambassador Sobir and congratulated him on his appointment. Ambassador Sobir conveyed the warm greetings and good wishes of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of the Maldives to Emperor Naruhito and expressed assurances of his commitment to further strengthen the long-standing bilateral relations between Maldives and Japan.
Ambassador Hassan Sobir was accompanied at the ceremony by Mr. Mohamed Ameeth Ahmed Manik, Minister–Counsellor and Mr. Shafraz Rasheed, First Secretary at the Maldives Embassy in Japan.
