B. Kendhoo Water and Sewerage Project Well Underway: MWSC

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has revealed that the water and sewerage project in Kendhoo island of Baa Atoll is well underway.

The project was awarded to MWSC for MVR 56.24 million by the Planning and Housing Ministry.

MWSC stated that work is underway to bury the pipes of the main network in the water and sewerage system. The pipes required for the project has now been transported to the island, the company said.

The project to establish a water system includes the construction of a 5.26 kilometer long water network and the construction of a RO facility building in Kendhoo. Two RO plants will be installed to produce water, three tanks will be installed to store water, water meters will be installed in the houses and water connections will be made.

The sewerage project includes the construction of a 4.88-meter long sewerage network in Kendhoo, the construction of a 556-meter pumping line, two pumping stations and one sea outflow. In addition, junctions will be installed at houses and sewerage connections will be made.

Additionally, generator sets, vehicles and water analysis equipment will also be provided under the project to maintain the water and sewerage system.
