A Business Night was arranged on 27 June 2022 by the Bangladesh High Commission in Maldives with great festivity and enthusiasm, to celebrate the First Economic Diplomacy Week–2022 declared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.
Hon’ble Minister of State for Economic Development of Maldives H.E. Mr. Mohamed Iaad Hameed was present on the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with Members of Parliament, high-officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economic Development, prominent businessmen and eminent Bangladeshi expatriates.
Bangladeshi products i.e. food items, spices, fresh fruits, ready-made garments, medicine etc. were displayed in the decorated stalls for the guests.
First Secretary and HOC of the Mission Mr. Md Sohel Parvez delivered a presentation on the investment and sourcing opportunities in Bangladesh. Two video presentations provided by BIDA and EPB were also displayed on this occasion. The Chief Guest, Hon’ble State Minister highly appreciated about the event and hoped that it would play an important role in enhancing bilateral trade and investment between Bangladesh and Maldives.
The High Commissioner H.E. Rear Admiral S M Abul Kalam Azad discussed about various business and business opportunities in Bangladesh and invites the Maldivian business community to take the opportunities to invest in Bangladesh. Finally, the Business night was topped off with a delicious dinner and display of video of beautiful Bangladesh.
