Bank of Maldives has announced the three recipients of the BML Scholarship Fund 2022:
- Ahmed Nisaal Abdulla
- Aminath Maisa Niyaz
- Ismail Zakwan Shihad
“Bank of Maldives is proud to award the first of our fully funded scholarships to three outstanding young Maldivians. The Scholarship offers the opportunity to develop the next generation of leaders in the country and we are pleased to have selected candidates who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievements and leadership potential. For the Bank, supporting the academic growth of young adults with a dedication to their communities is a great way to give back and invest in the future of the country,” said Timothy Sawyer, CEO and Managing Director of Bank of Maldives.
The Scholarship Fund is a fully funded merit-based international scholarship through which recipients can select any undergraduate program in a banking and finance related area from the top 200 universities in the world.
The highly competitive Fund was open for academically meritorious students with a strong desire to contribute to the development of the local banking and finance industry after graduation.
The Bank launched its scholarship program in November of 2021 as the first of 12 high impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate the lead up to the Bank’s 40th anniversary.
