Luxury leisure airline Beond has announced plans to offer Apple Vision Pro headsets to select passengers on flights to the Maldives. The headsets will provide passengers with immersive virtual experiences highlighting the beauty and attractions of the Maldives alongside Beond’s existing onboard entertainment.
Beond’s Chairman and CEO, Tero Taskila, commented on the initiative, stating, “The Apple Vision Pro will transform the inflight entertainment experience…The inflight experience will build anticipation for passengers before they arrive in the Maldives.” He emphasized the airline’s commitment to enhancing the travel experience and its pride in being the first airline to offer this technology.
The airline is collaborating with partners in the Maldives to create exclusive footage for the Apple Vision Pro headsets. Passengers can expect stunning virtual tours of resorts and glimpses into the diverse activities available in the island nation.
This announcement comes after the airline’s recent expansion. Beond recently acquired a second aircraft and launched passenger services from Munich, Zurich, and Riyadh to Malé in 2023. New routes from Milan, Dubai, and Bangkok to the Maldives are scheduled to begin in mid-2024, featuring an all-lie-flat seating configuration for premium comfort.
