Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially opened applications for its Tech Internship Program, providing students and recent graduates with structured, on-the-job training.
The bank announced the launch via social media, directing interested applicants to its official portal. Designed as a specialized one-year initiative, the BML Tech Internship Program aims to equip early-career technology talent with direct practical experience, cross-departmental exposure, and professional mentorship.
Under the framework of the program, successful candidates participate in live IT projects and undergo rotations across various technology units within the bank. Each intern receives specific performance objectives at the start of the placement year, alongside guidance from an assigned Line Manager and a mentor. BML’s Learning and Development Department provides continuous technical and professional training throughout the 12-month tenure.
Participants in the Tech Internship Program work six hours per day and receive a monthly allowance of MVR 11,000. The position includes standard leave entitlements, providing 15 days of paid annual leave together with 10 days of leave allocated for medical and family emergencies.
To qualify for this program, candidates must hold Maldivian citizenship, be at least 18 years of age, and possess less than one year of prior formal work experience. Academic eligibility requires applicants to hold a Certificate Level 4 qualification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or to be actively pursuing a degree program in a relevant discipline.
BML evaluates interns on performance, attendance, and adherence to corporate policies and procedures throughout the year. Participants who meet the required standards receive an official certificate of completion upon graduation, with high-performing individuals potentially receiving offers for permanent, full-time employment within the bank’s IT division.
