The Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives) has further broadened its international footprint after securing membership with the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA).
The CAPA Board formally approved the membership application in September 2026. CAPA serves as the regional organisation recognised by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) for the Asia-Pacific region. The body represents 29 professional accountancy organisations across 21 jurisdictions, including leading accountancy institutes from Australia, New Zealand, China, India, Japan, South Korea, and Canada.
The addition of CAPA further integrates the Maldivian accountancy sector into the wider global professional community. CA Maldives already holds full membership in IFAC, the umbrella global body representing over 188 professional organisations in more than 143 jurisdictions.
In addition to its IFAC and CAPA ties, the national institute participates in regional policy and technical frameworks as a member of both the Asian-Oceanian Standard-Setters Group (AOSSG) and the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA). CA Maldives also maintains numerous formal memoranda of understanding and collaborative partnerships with counterpart accountancy bodies worldwide.
According to the institute, these strategic partnerships support its ongoing effort to enhance international collaboration, build global professional links, and develop the domestic accountancy profession within the Maldives.
